A note from Rabbit –
Hey now: it's the Rabbit
At this time I'm finally trying to get up out of my tent and get back indoors.

I'm currently recieving monthly Social Security and I'm eligable for
subsedized housing, but finding the housing options to be less than optimal.
Is there anybody out there who might be willing to rent me a room or
cottage in the East Bay? I can pay up to four hundred a month and can also
assist with home repairs, restoration, landscaping and other personal or
household duties.
I'm in good health and eager to get back to writing.
Looking forward to hearing from you .
Best wishes,
Robert Barringer

Rabbit and Tomas are back from the reunion tour to Detroit, where BP won an award
and received lots of press, check it out at the Awards / Reviews page.
Most importantly Rabbit had an opportunity to see his family, (about 40 of them
showed up at the screening) he had not seen any of them in 20 years or more!

Long journey back to Detroit for homeless filmmaker --
Bums' Paradise to screen at Detroit Docs.

Bums’ Paradise is written, narrated and partially filmed by the talented Detroit area native,
Robert Barringer. Barringer left the 10th grade in 1968 and hitchhiked across the U.S. to
take part in San Francisco’s "Summer of Love". After some time, he realized that the people
he liked the most had a college education, so he studied and took the college entrance exams
and was able to get into the University of California at Berkeley. In 1975, he earned a
Bachelors Degree in Painting with a Minor in Art History. Barringer then worked for 16 years
as a graphic artist and picture framer. He was married for a time. After his divorce, he lost his job,
was evicted from his apartment, and landed on the streets, where he has been living for
the past 6 years. Barringer has not communicated with his family in Detroit since he became
homeless. His mother, father, sister and three brothers don’t know of his whereabouts,
or that he took part in the making of an internationally-acclaimed, award-winning film.
This is especially poignant since in Bums' Paradise, Barringer reads a letter he wrote to his family
explaining his situation, a letter he never sent.

We are working hard to gather funds, so that Robert Barringer and Tomas McCabe may accompany
Bums’ Paradise to Detroit Docs. They will attend the screening, take part in workshops and panels…
and Robert
will reunite with his family!

Thank You!
Friends of Five Creeks, Spaz, and especially
all the folks that turned out last night in Sebastopol!
We had a blast and today we managed to
actually pay for our airline tickets to Detroit!

"Mad" Mark aka MGM
has a website
now which
attempts to explain his
Global Resolve Theory.
www.GlobalResolve.org
The Fairy Castle 2000, located in the
Albany Landfill, is a monument to
this theory, and a gift to all people
of California. It was built by Mark,
on his own, mostly at night,
over many years.

I don't fully understand the numerology aspect of GlobalResolve.org,
but I do understand that as people on this planet, we all need to resolve
our differences and problems, for our sake and for the sake of the planet.

Thank all of you who help Rabbit and Tomas realize, and enjoy our road trip!
From Seattle to Portland to Eugene to Ashland to Sandy Bar,
14 screenings in 11 days, we had a blast!
We've received many positive emails from the folks we've met along the way,
and have posted some of them on our new Feedback Page, so check it out!.

Where are they now?
Many from Bums' Paradise are still in the Bay Area and still homeless.
Jimbow is a free man again after spending a year in jail on charges of terrorist threats
(bogus post 9-11 paranoia). Some of Jimbow's poetry is on www.ipoet.com
Paula has been living indoors for the last three and a half years, and working for
her father. She is still in contact with many of the folks from the Albany landfill.
Although she and Chris are no longer a couple , their friendship is solid
and they see each other often.
Derek is married, living indoors, and working for the Red Cross in Massachusetts.
I spoke to him recently, and he sounded really happy, he had just spent the day
loading a shipment of clothing for earthquake victims in Iran.
Mad Mark still works on the castle occasionally, although he was indoors for awhile,
right now we are not sure where he is staying. Check out his website www.GlobalResolve.org
Katie & Wheelchair Danny are indoors and have two boys now, Nick and Tom.
Walter & Bonnie have been living indoors and
drug-free together for some time now.
Dave passed away in October of 2002, of upper respiratory failure, he was still living
outdoors at the time.

Our beloved Jean Paul

he was found in his tent
on October 15, 2003.
He will be missed by us all.
